1964 Chrysler Corporation Turbine Car

The following are all pages from the 1964 brochure for the Chrysler Turbine car.  Fifty five of these cars were built, fifty of which were placed in consumers hands for three month test periods.  The expense of mass producing the cars, fuel economy concerns and question as to whether the American buying public could adapt to such a radical powerplant design ultimately conspired against the cars ever being mass produced.

All but a handful of these cars were destroyed to prevent Chrysler from having to pay high duties on the Italian designed and built bodies.  I believe that two remain in Chrysler's possession and one is possessed by a private collector.
